The importance of the project

According to the provisions of the power purchase and sale contract and the BOT contract of the Van Phong 1 BOT thermal power plant project, EVN is obliged to complete the 500kV Van Phong – Vinh Tan transmission line project no later than December 26, 2022. If the project is completed later than this milestone, EVN will have to pay huge expenses every day. At the same time, after 6 months, if it cannot be overcome, the investor has the right to terminate the project and the Ministry of Industry and Trade must buy back the project according to the provisions of the BOT contract. If this happens, it will cause loss, economic damage and affect the reputation of the Government of Vietnam, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as the Electricity of Vietnam with investors.
